June 22-24 at Brown University
Mark your calendars for the 2014 Rapid Insight Conference! Join us for a chance to exchange ideas, learn from your peers and get the latest tips on predictive modeling and analytics at the Rapid Insight Conference. The conference will be held on the beautiful and historic campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Providence is easily accessible by both air and train as well as car. For air, it’s via TF Green Airport, which is serviced by most major air carriers, including Jet Blue and Southwest. Providence is a major train stop for Amtrak on its Northeast Regional and High Speed Acela service. For those driving, Interstate 95 goes right through the middle of Providence.
We are in the process of finalizing some agreements with hotels in the area that can provide shuttles from the hotel to Brown for the conference. Stay tuned for more details in the upcoming weeks.
Call for Presentations
Many of you have done some great work this year that we are sure others would benefit from hearing about. We are looking for Data Stars like you that would be willing share your challenges, triumphs and insights during this year’s event. All we’d need right now would be a topic title and brief (maybe one or two sentence) summary describing your 30-45 minute session.
Some examples to consider
- Presenting on routine tasks – contrasting the “old” ways of doing things with the (hopefully!) improved ways
- Maybe something new that you’re doing now that an RI product is providing you the capability of accomplishing; or
- How our products/services helped you overcome a specific technical or institutional hurdle.
- Cool stuff!! This covers a lot of items. Tell us about some of the great ideas you or your team have come up with that you think is unique. This doesn’t mean you have to limit it to just uses of the software- perhaps because of your new processes and decisions you have made with data, you have changed things within your institution. We’d love to hear about those too.
As an added incentive, we’ll waive this year’s standard registration fee for you! To submit a presentation idea, click here.
Early Presentation Deadline: February 1st
Any presentations submitted by this deadline will get first priority on the conference agenda. Remember, presenters can attend for free! This ensures that your presentation will get complete consideration. Even if you just have an idea and not a fully detailed presentation, send it to us. We’ll work with you to help you turn it into a great presentation.
Final Presentation Deadline: March 31st
On this date, we are reviewing all of the additional presentation ideas so we can get the agenda out to attendees and those considering being a part of the conference. You still get your free registration if you meet this deadline and we will work with you to help turn your idea into a full session.
Providence is home to many museums, including the RISD Museum, the state’s leading museum of art and design, John Brown House Museum, a landmark from the 18th century; and the Governor Henry Lippitt House Museum, an American National Historic Landmark. Just for the kids, we have the Providence Children’s Museum, Rhode Island’s only hands-on museum for children.
